Lovebirds Save the Date Announcements

It's no secret that I love anything with birds, so on today's post I'd like to feature Lovebird Save the Dates by some of my favorite zazzle designers.

I love the sophistication of this above aqua and brown save the date card by FidesDesign. It has a classic timeless feel, with a modern font that makes the design fit with the actual trends.

Continuing with the aqua tones, this bold and playful design by Pink Lily Press delivers the message with a smile! It's so cute, I can already envision your guests letting out a sigh of joy as they go "awwww..." and smile.

The design shown above by Pip Gerard is both creative and adorable. I love the heart shape created by little birdie foot prints, and the glasses on the groom.

I like the soft and feminine feel in this design by Berry Berry Sweet, which is balanced by a touch of masculinity with the dark brown shades and the bird's top hat.

Well, since I'm going with an aqua color scheme, thought I'd throw -in my lovebirds design as well! This is from my Tiffany Blue Lovebirds and Blossoms collection, complete with matching invitations, address labels and many other items.

And last, but not least, I completely enjoy the vibrant colors in this bold yet whimsical design by Art Lady Manor.

That's all for today! Have a great weekend, and happy wedding planning.

Citrus Inspiration

I wanted to create a couple new Save the Date design options for my DIY gallery this week, so I decided to browse the 'net for inspiration. During my search, I came across this beautiful cake by Maisie Fantasie - it was perfect! Inspiration was found.

I see this cake and I immediately think "Palm Springs". I love the colors, so fresh and lively, and I am also drawn to the the modern square design of the cake.

Very inspiring, indeed.
After getting over my craving for lemon cake, I proceeded to create the two citrus-colored, modern stationery designs below. Yummy!

You Save Money as your guests Save the Date!

Brides may need to be more budget conscious these days, and I'm happy to say that when it comes to your Save the Dates, there are a few low cost alternatives you can take before nixing this piece from your wedding stationery.

Below is a list I have put together with a few creative suggestions that will allow you to save money as you notify your guests to save the date:
  • Buy less and send them only to your out of town guests.
  • Go small and save a tree while you're at it!
By selecting a smaller sized card such as a 3.5x5 note card or business card size for your Save The Dates, you'll save on printing and paper, and you'll help protect the environment by creating less waste.

  • Use post cards featuring a photo or a wedding logo on the cover, details and a hand-written note on the back. You will save money on printing and postage.
  • Use custom maps as your save the dates.
If you know the location of your wedding ceremony and reception months in advance, hire a designer (ahem...Dio Selina Custom Designs) to create a custom map illustrating the location(s) and other points of interest. This will save you the cost of printing an extra map insert for your invitations and will allow your out-of-town guests to Save the Date and do some research ahead of time.
  • Invest in a wedding logo and have a few hundred note cards featuring your logo and nothing else. Use some of these branded note cards to hand write your Save the Dates and use the remaining note cards as Thank You Cards for after the wedding. Remember, when it comes to printing, the more you buy in one print run the more you save!
  • If you go with the note card option mentioned above, you can always purchase custom "Save The Date" postage, so that your guests receive the news before they even open your envelope and read your heartfelt handwritten note.

Whichever route you wish to take, I am here to help you with all your stationery needs.
