Dog Theme Baby Shower Invitations
Hi there! I'm very excited to share my newest baby shower collection with you today. It had been a long time since I was able to add an entire setto my shop for a themed event, and after many, many months and a bit of determination I finally did it.
My new "Bandana Doggy" stationery theme was actually born last summer as I doodled away in my office while taking a break to do a little creative exercise. I kept the little piece of scrap paper I doodled on pinned to my bulletin board for several months - that little guy was just too cute to discard!
It wasn't until some time last month in February that I finally had the chance to transform my doodle into a digital illustration and begin the process of creating this set, complete with invitations, custom postage, party favor stickers, address labels and thank you cards - all available in my shop at PaisleyInParis.com

Paris Theme Invitations
Came across this Parisian inspired invitation today by PerfectPostage. I love the blend of colors in the design and the fact that you can just customize it on-screen and purchase!PLEASE NOTE: I played with the customizing settings a bit to make sure it worked, and here's what I noticed. When I entered my name where it reads "Text 1" I realized there are two layers to the names on the cover, a black and red layer. "Text 1" pertains to the black layer, so make sure you enter the exact same text where it reads "Text 3" so that both layers match and say exactly the same thing, creating a sligh. Then proceed to customize the rest.
These would make great invitations for weddings, bridal showers, engagement parties, or sweet 16 parties.Oh! One more thing! Do not be intimidated by the yellow notice that reads "MEDIA is temporarily out of stock".
This just means that the stock that the designer selected is out at the time being, but you can just click where it says "2. Choose your style, size and paper type" and you'll be able to select other fabulous card stocks such as metallic ice or recycled stock.

Baptism Invitations
As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently accepted a full-time temp job that I'm thoroughly enjoying during the day. Then, I come home and I continue adding to my stationery shop over at PaisleyInParis.com and I work on other minor custom projects that may come up, such these baptism invitations for my coworker's grandson.I know the image quality is not as good as I'd like it to be, but it's the best I could do with the lighting in my studio at this hour (9pm) with my phone's camera. I just wanted to share what I worked on this evening; I printed, cut, assembled, and glittered 20 of these babies for an early delivery tomorrow morning.
I printed the invitations on solar white card stock and attached them to a silver metallic stock, then I glittered the cross above for a little more sparkle.
I'm also working on completing a Robot themed birthday party set for a client in Florida. You can see the invitations here. I'll be posting thank you cards, cupcake toppers, chocolate bar wrappers and a matching birthday banner soon. So much inspiration, so little time, and so grateful for the work the Lord sends my way.

Real Weddings: Amy and Vinny ~ Love Birds and Cherry Blossoms Wedding Stationery
Congratulations to Amy and Vinny on their recent wedding! When we first met to discuss her stationery needs she envisioned a modern design to reflect the trendy Ace Hotel in which her wedding would be held.
At the same time, she instantly fell in love with a love birds illustration I had created for another project in a different color scheme. Not a problem! I always create two different designs for my clients, each one with an individual price list, so that they can compare and see what feels best to them design-wise and budget-wise. All it took were a few minor modifications to the Love Birds and Cherry Blossoms design, such as changing the color and font to better portray their personalities. The other design was (in their words) "perfect" as I sent it, but after a couple of nights of thinking, and thinking, and more thinking, they decided to go with the love birds theme.
Amy continued to use my original Love Birds & Cherry Blossoms illustration to brand the rest of her wedding by purchasing matching postage and favor magnets from my zazzle gallery, which where printed and delivered within days with just a few button clicks.

My First Wedding Invitation Design...8 yrs ago
After a consultation many clients have often commented that they imagine my own wedding invitations to have been the most spectacular ever! I just smile and remind them that it was after designing my own invitations that I discovered the joy of couture stationery design! I didn't have all the tools available back then as I have now. I worked as a graphic designer in a corporate setting, and would occasionally craft on the weekends, so I didn't have all the different paper options I now carry in my own shop. They did, however, portray who we are and what we envisioned for our big day.Hubby and I had decided we wanted to have a big Mexican fiesta, with a Mariachi band playing during the reception, Mexican Folkoric dancers, a Mexican buffet, and we knew the wedding would take place in an old Spanish-Style church down town Palm Springs and our reception would take at Cree Estate, an hacienda-style home in Cathedral City.
With that in mind I created an illustration that portrayed us as we envisioned ourselves on our wedding day...me in a traditional wedding dress and hubby in a "Charro" suit. The invitaiton was wraped in metallic off-white shimmery paper, which enclosed a matching RSVP card and a map to the reception, then tied with a big red bow. Note: I'm not big on bows, and I rarely use them in my designs nowadays, but I had to use the ribbon to secure all the pieces together.
I also used the same illustration as a cover for individual guest books (shown above) that were placed at every seat, for guests to fill out. It was kind of an activity book where we asked them to draw them selves, write us a note, answer a questionnaire and other neat things that would keep them entertained if they found themselves not socializing during the reception.
So for those curious minds, above is a glimpse of what my stationery looked like. I know I've come a long way since then. As they say, practice makes perfect, and I know that every new project allows me to continue to grow as a designer.

Invitations for a 50th Birthday Celebration, "Diamonds are Forever"
I had the opportunity to work with a great couple from NYC last year, who were seeking unique invitations for a 50th birthday celebration. The theme for the event was "Diamonds are Forever" as in the 1971 James Bond film, starring Sean Connery, which has a scene that was filmed at the Elrod House in our beautiful city of Palm Springs. In fact, David and all his guests traveled out to Palm Springs, and celebrated at the Elrod House! The invitation had to have a clean and modern feel to resemble the setting. They opted to stay with a color palette of black and silver for elegance, and we subliminally incorporated the diamond theme by repeating the use of a traditional geometric diamond shape, different layers of shimmer stocks and rhinestone embelishments.
To the left is a sample of the matching place cards/menus I created for the reception. The design carried out the same design elements as the invitations, including the Swarovski crystal rhinestones, to ensure an evening of style, fun, diamond-like sparkle and glamour!
