Monday Hues: Ceci New York Custom Postage

Happy Monday! Can't believe we're midway through August; the holiday season is practically upon us. I'm so ready for sweaters and hot cocoa, though. It's been a great summer, but even nature knows it's almost time for a change of scenery and a change of pace.
Speaking of a change of pace, I hope you all had a great weekend. You may not be ready for Monday, so I'd like to treat you to some eye-candy and help chase away the Monday blues. Shown above are these fabulous little treasures from Ceci New York's Kimono collection of custom postage. They are available for purchase in sheets of twenty and you can choose from eight different postage denominations for all your shipping needs. Yes, I may be ready for fall and winter but summer colors, like the ones above, will always be my favorite.

Wedding Cake Con Papel Picado

Awesome! I get to practice my Spanglish with today's blog post. I just wanted to share this beautiful wedding cake by Melody of My Sweet and Saucy. The design was inspired by the couple's wedding invitation which featured a "Papel Picado" element. Papel Picado are little flags, like bunting, that are most popular around Cinco de Mayo. They are colorful and feature many cool designs...kind of like paper snow flakes.

Here's a close up of the cake. I love how how the magenta flower just pops against the white cake. The wedding featured a rich color palette of plums and fusia. Hmmm...I wonder if they had a mariachi??? To view more of this Spanish-style wedding, visita el blog de My Sweet and Saucy. There's lots more to see along with a list of the fabulous ladies that put together this magical event. ~ I wish I would have known them 8 years ago when I was planning my own Spanish-style wedding.

Love is a beautiful thing...

Love is an emotion, a state of being, a feeling, a decision, an instinct, a life-style, a motivator, a four letter word, and it's also...wall decor? Yes it is, and it's beautiful! Etsy seller Mooza has created this gorgeous set of four letters to spell the word love. Each piece is made from an acrylic base, then topped with decorative Japanese papers and sealed with a thick resin coating. The result is a ceramic-like set of letters that together form one of the most powerful words in the world, and an artistic expression of such beautiful word that is sure embellish any space in your home or office. ~ I totally "love" it!

Lovebirds Cake Topper

These little birdies are so cute and so affordable compared to other traditional wedding cake toppers. What I like most is that they're so versatile. They're great for weddings, but I can also see them used as cupcake toppers for other events such as birthday celebrations or baby showers. So much cuteness and so much to choose from over at Gifts Divine's Etsy Shop.

Beautiful (and Removable) Wall Decor

I am one to always want to decorate my walls, but you are like my sister who'd rather keep her walls plain because she's afraid to make too many holes in the wall, these cute decals may be the perfect solution.

There's so many to choose from, and I love how the nature themed decals provide a sense of warmth and serenity. These are from Valerydesignwrks, an outstanding Canadian designer who offers her artwork on many mediums. You can find many more through Etsy (my favorite) and Amazon (my other favorite).

My Designer Wish List

Spent a little time on the Bag Borrow Or Steal website today. So much designery goodness! The above are only a few of my faves. My absolute favorite is that Louis Vuitton Monogram Inclusion ring, and it will be mine one day...maybe for my birthday. That'll give me a few months to send my husband a few subtle hints for it. =)

Have I mentioned I love birds? I'm sure I have, as I'm always inclined to share my little bird internet finds. In fact, I have created several wedding invitations and greeting card designs featuring my little bird illustrations, and I'm happy to say they're some of my best sellers!
Well, today's little bird find stole my heart. It's an illustration by an Etsy seller based out of Washington. Her store is filled with beautiful artwork in this same unique style. Hop on over to Corid's Etsy shop and enjoy some eye-candy.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Pillow Set

What a truly unique idea by Etsy seller diffractionfiber who created these cute Peanut Butter & Jelly pillow set...because some things just go great together! For a small additional fee, you can get your name embroidered on the pillows as well. I would be jelly cuz I'm kinda sweet and my hubby would be peanut butter cuz he's kinda nutty. Or is it the other way around? Hmmm...I think this would make a good poll on my Facebook.
The pillows are not only a one-of-a-kind hand crafted design, they are also constructed out of eco-felt made of 100% recycled plastic bottles! Oh, how I love artwork that is not only good for the soul, but kind to the environment as well. =)
