Calendar and Availability

I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner! This year just flew by. I am already working on invitation suites for next spring, which is always very exciting!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to remind clients, friends, family and readers, that if you're interested in invitations or custom greeting cards for this holiday season, now's the time to order.
I will be taking in a limited number of orders for holiday cards & invites, as my calendar is almost full. In addition to the spring weddings I mentioned, I am currently completing coordinating items for fall and winter weddings (programs, place cards, thank you cards, etc.), invitations for a couple of Bat Mitzvah's, and a couple of branding and identy projects.
I have several new designs to post on my site...just need to make a little time for a photo shoot. I'll probably post them on my blog before I add them to my site, so keep checking in! =)

It's a Wine Party!

With all the upcoming birthday and holiday celebrations soon to be happening in my corner of the world, I thougth I'd begin looking for some fun entertaining ideas. During my search I came across this fun and colorful wine game at Wrapables.

It's perfect for an evening of fun and learning. Enjoy time together with friends and family and learn a little bit more about a variety of wines.

Let's not forget those handy little Wine N Dine plates. It'll be a lot easier for guests to walk around with their wine and treats on one hand, leaving the other one free to pour, hug and wave hello.

Featured Designer: Anne Wood

Speaking of feathers (on my previous blog entry), I am so in love with Ann Wood's bird cake toppers! Up until now, I never considered myself a cake topper kind of girl. When I got married, I thought of cake toppers as an unnecessary expense, something that would just end up buried in my closet. Instead, my wedding cake was decorated with flowers...but that's because I didn't know an Ann Wood's beautiful little master pieces!

All of her birds are one of a kind, or made in small quantities. They are all hand crafted little pieces of art, many of them made from vintage fabrics and actual wedding gowns.

Each bird arrives with their individual little name tag, and are shipped in a pretty little box.

Feather-bottom dresses

I am soooo loving the use of feathers in headpieces, bouquets and even evening gowns! I came accross this dress today, which I thought would be fun to wear as a bridesmaid. It's not your typical bridesmaid dress, of course, but that's me...not typical.

If you like it, better get shopping now! It's on sale at Bloomingdales from $630 marked down 50% to $315.

I must say, though, so far the most beautiful feather-bottom dresses I've seen are the ones shown below. This is also one of my favorite images by Red Lantern Photography. I love the colors, the composition, the casual elegance of the setting, and of course the dresses! I'm not sure who designed them, or where they can be purchased, but I'll ask Donna (co-owner of Red Lantern Photography), I'm sure she'll know. She worked in fashion for a while, and tends to keep up with the latest trends better than I do.
I'll let you know when I find out!

Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book of Vendors

I I am very pleased announce that Dio Selina Custom Designs has been personally selected by Abby Larson and her assistant Michelle to be included in the Little Black Book of Wedding Vendors listed on their amazing wedding blog by the name of Style Me Pretty!

Abby, founder of Style Me Pretty, was actually interviewed on the Martha Stewart show last year, and her blog (Style Me Pretty) is featured on the Martha Stewart Weddings website as one of Martha's favorite blogs!

Abby writes about everything beautiful in the wedding industry. Her blog features the latest wedding trends, real weddings, unique ideas, inspiration boards, and step by step instructions on "how to" for do it yourself brides who are hand crafting their own weddings. It's a place where stylish brides of all budgets can feel at home and become truly inspired.

Their Little Black Book features the best vendors in the industry nation-wide. All vendors are hand-selected and added by invitation only, based on personal recommendations, tips from insiders, and comments from their closest friends. You can find us (and our very talented friends from Red Lantern Photography) listed under California, in the Palm Springs section.

Needless to say, it is a true honor to be part of Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book of Vendors. Thank you Abby and Michelle for including us in the Little Black Book! We'd also like to thank our friends and clients who passed the word and made this possible for us!

No go on, get comfortable, and settle in front of your computer for a few hours of browsing, taking notes and getting ispired at StyleMePretty.com!

Same Sex in the City Wedding Expo, held at The Parker, Palm Springs

I've had an eventful couple of weeks. I've been busy, busy creating a variety of custom orders for clients, but in the middle of it all, I made a little to time to showcase my work at the Same Sex in the City Wedding Expo held at The Parker, Palm Springs, this past Sunday, September 7th.

The show was put together by GBK productions and Rrivre Works. It was absolutely stunning! Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to take any pictures at the event but you can get a glimpse of the day by watching this two minute video on KESQ.com.

I shared a booth with my friends from Red Lantern Photography, which was a lot of fun! I met a lot of nice people at the event, potential clients and vendors alike. It was by far the best show I've ever attended. It was very well put together, great turn-out, took place in a gorgeous setting and it was great to know that our presence and participation in the show meant a lot to many of our guests.
