Always an opportunity for creativity

I am having so much fun with the elf theme this year! I ordered elf cards from JibJab.com after creating that cute little video you saw a few blog entries ago. These Elf cards allowed me to include some creative writing as well, reflecting a bit more of my personality and my relationships with the people I'm giving them to.

For example, here's what I wrote on my brother's card (it's okay to share, he doesn't read my blog)...

"My spidey senses tell me you've been on Santa's good list this year. But as you can see, I am CLEARLY an Elf, not Spiderman, so whatever my spidey senses detect can be thrown right out the window!"
Then I signed it with the traditional Merry Christmas, and told him to go Elf himself.

No, I'm not being mean, that's really the name of the elfing program..."Elf Yourself". I included the JibJab web address on his card as well, so he knows where to go to get started.

I know this has nothing to do with weddings, but I do hope that it inspires you to find a way to be creative in everything that you do. Especially when planning your holiday parties and of course your wedding day!

Peace and Joy,

Dio

My production assistants (a.k.a. Elves) and I wanted to share some holiday spirit, so we put together a little dance routine for you! Enjoy!

Paris Theme Wedding Invitation

I have received several requests for Parisian invitations in the last couple of months. I currently have a couple of designs out for proof, but I thought I'd give you a sneak preview of my new Paris inspired creation.
The new design seen above is priced a bit lower than the design to the left, because there are less materials and less labor costs to cover. It is composed of a bronze 4x9 card stock backing and the invitation is printed on ecru shimmer stock. The invitation to the left however, is a bit more intricate. It is what we call a Z-card design, it has bronze card stock layer pasted in the center, followed by a soft pink vellum, then the final center layer consists of the invitation. The envelopes for both the invitation and response card are manually lined with Parisian paper, to complete the look.

As always, all elements are a la carte, so if you'd like the simplified 4x9 design with lined envelopes, we can do that too!

Safari Wedding Stationery

We recently took my daughter to watch Madagascar, Escape 2 Africa and we loved it! Coincidentally, during the same week, I went to visit Joey Lizzotte's floral design studio at Artisan Event Floral Decor, as we collaborated on a project, and I happened to notice his staff working on some gorgeous center pieces that seemed fit for a safari theme wedding. I wish I would have had my camera with me, but I'll check with him to see if he has any photographs of the centerpieces. They were amazing!

I was so inspired by the movie and centerpieces, which got my wheels turning...below is the first of a few animal print designs I plan to include in my DIY collection.

The invitation to the left has a more natural earthy color palette, with dark brown zebra stripes, orange accents and olive text. Khaki envelopes would go great with this option!
The invitation on the right with black, pink and green, has more of a contemporary chic feel.

Both color options will be available through my website within the next week or so.
