The Strawberry Batida

While in search of a fun and fruity beverage that I could prepare for my sister tomorrow to get her in a "happier" birthday mood, I found a recipe for a blended and creamy Brazilian drink which has appararently become a hit in LA and Miami.

It's called the Strawberry Batida.

What first caught my attention was it's color - Pink! Oh yes, pink is still so "in" these days, so if any of you are looking for a pink & fruity beverage to color-coordinate and refresh your guests during your spring or summer celebration, try it out! I haven't tried it yet, but when I do, I'll let you know what I think about it.

Here's what you need:
  • 1 cup of strawberry pulp (frozen or fresh mashed strawberries)
  • 3 tablespoons of condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 4 ounces of cachaca or vodka
Just blend over ice and serve. Yields 4.

Christine Arnold's Shoe Fetish

Most photographers have a style that identifies them. For example, we're all familiar with Jose Villa's never failing shots of the shoes the bride and groom wore on their big day. (Image to the left).

In visiting Christine Arnold's photography website today, I found that she actually has an entire page dedicated to her "shoe fetish". How fun is that?

Below are a few images from her shoe fetish gallery. You really can tell a lot by people's shoes, can't you? =) Enjoy!

Today's Best: Baby Shower Postage

A few days ago, one of my postage designs was featured as "Today's Best" on Zazzle.com.

It's very flattering, especially because other "zazzlers" continue to stop by my gallery and congratulate me. It's such a nice on-line community.

This is definitely different from the couture work I've been doing the last few years, but I like that it allows everyone an opportunity to easily obtain stationery for their special occasions, without the couture price tag.
Matching invitation, also available through my zazzle gallery.

Picture of the day: By Albert Lewis from Mulberry Photo

I love photography! Especially those images that are taken from interesting angles. I'm not a big fan of posed portraits, which is why we hardly have any family photos.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a beautiful image by Albert Lewis from Mulberry Photo.

I love the angle and warm, soft colors in this image.

Tom Lang, Logo & Business Card Redesign

Just wanted to share a couple of logo and business card design options that I have out for proof right now.

Option 1:
Combines elegance with a modern touch. The "G" in "wedding" is made up of two wedding rings. The cover of the card is kept clean, while the back side includes all the contact information.

Option 2:
I feel the logo has a bit more of a feminine touch, so I neutralized it with shades of brown. Has more of a vintage flair with a modern touch.

Please feel free to vote - post a comment and let us know which one you like most!
